Arizona Campgrounds: Things to Bring When You Go Camping
There is no better place in the world to discover the wonderful outdoors than in Arizona campgrounds. The sky is clear, the weather is fine, and the nature is simply beautiful.
The most popular campground in Arizona is the Grand Canyon National Park, where you get to see the awe-inspiring and majestic Grand Canyon. The national park gives campers a different kind of tent camping adventure. Those who want to simply experience the feeling of sleeping in the wilderness can camp on developed campgrounds. Meanwhile, those who prefer to rough it out can decide to camp in the undeveloped areas of the national park. Either way, you have to be always ready with your camping gear to make the most out of your camping experience.
Essential camping gear that you need to bring with you includes camping tent, sleeping bags, cookware, backpack, and a few other camping accessories.
Tents are of course your refuge while out in the wilderness. Though weather in Arizona is often sunny, if you are camping on the desert, a secure and stable tent is a must-have. Tents also give you privacy and protect you from bugs, mosquitoes, and other elements of nature.
Sleeping bags can give you the comfort you need while you are out in the wilderness. It is difficult to fall asleep when you are away from home; more so if you are outdoors, with lots of people around, with the ground as your bed. If you have sleeping bags, you are sure that you can comfortably sleep during the night.
Some people do not want to bring cookware but experienced campers say that it is an essential camping gear. If you do not want to bring your kitchen along with you, look at the list of foods that you got. Make sure that you can cook your foods using one-piece cookware only to avoid bringing all your pots and pans. Bring a knife, portable stove, a pot or pan, grill, and water container. If you have smaller pieces of these (and you have a small group with you), bring only the smaller pieces.
Backpacks should hold your clothes and other camping accessories. One large backpack should be enough if it is a three- to four-day camping only. Make sure you choose a backpack that is lightweight but strong enough to carry all your things.
Also include in your checklist the following camping accessories: flashlight, matches, communication equipment, and extra batteries.
Flashlights are usually forgotten by beginners; maybe because people have been used to 24/7 lighting. They forget that it can get really dark out there in the wilderness. Flashlights might be the only sources of light in the campgrounds so make sure to include them in the camping checklist.
Extra batteries should also be brought; make sure to have at least a spare battery for each of the gadgets that you will bring. Even if the battery manufacturer claims that it can last up to a month with frequent usage, still bring spare batteries.
Matches are useful in building campfires. Do not think that other people will bring matches; what if they think that you will bring matches too? If most of you forgot to bring flashlights, a campfire might be your only source of light out there in the woods.
Even if you are out there in the desert, you should know what is happening with the world. The world does not stop revolving just because you decided to camp out there in the wilderness. If there is an emergency, or you need to call someone, having communication equipment is helpful. If you do not want to be disturbed, you can simply put it on silent mode or turn it off.
Camping in Arizona is one of the best things that you should experience this summer. Make sure to pack everything that is needed before you hit the camping grounds.
